Duties:
- Advise company on a broad range of employment matters including workers’ compensation, discrimination, termination, retaliation, wage and hour laws, benefits/compensation, sexual harassment, etc., and ensure that company is in compliance with state and federal laws
- Attend and represent the company in employment-related proceedings and hearings
- In conjunction with HR department, ensure that company policies are being followed, and issue corrective actions as needed
- Review all incoming and outgoing legal documents and provide counsel to company management
- Draft and review all necessary company agreements
- Draft and revise company policies
- Create programs to train HR department on a full range of employment matters
- Coordinate and control outside counsel on matters relating to company’s customers’ bankruptcies and company’s copyrights, and any other litigation
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with employment law in a law firm or in-house setting
- Employment litigation experience is a plus
- Comprehensive understanding of and prior advisory experience with current employment and labor laws
- Ability to analyze and advise on complex legal issues pertaining to overall business operations and processes
- Experience in copyright, trademark, or bankruptcy law is a plus
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills
- Must be proficient in Korean language
